Marion County: The Indianapolis Children’s Museum
On one of our many trips to Menards to pick up supplies for the Mancave, we discovered Isaac got a big kick out of the Halloween decorations. So when I discovered the Indianapolis Children’s Museum put on a Haunted House I thought it might be a good way to introduce Isaac to some Halloween fun.
So back on October 22, 2011, we headed up to the museum to check things out. In full disclosure, we’ve been members at the museum since the beginning of the year but we thought this outing would suffice for Marion County since the Haunted House was a special event.
We arrived at the museum right as it was opening, we thought the haunted house might be a little busy plus we wanted to take advantage of the “lights-on option”; although, it was still somewhat dark and I could see how some of the kiddos would think it was a bit creepy.
Isaac seemed to enjoy himself. He even got brave and crawled through a couple of tunnels in the house.
After finishing up at the Haunted House we had a bit of time to play around the museum. Isaac and I took Caleb on his first ride on the museum’s carousel.
Isaac had a blast, like always, in Playscape (the 5 and under area of the museum).
We even managed to make it down to the basement of the museum to check out the All Aboard! Exhibits.
And of course, what trip to the Children’s Museum could be complete with out a drive in the infamous Indy car.
All in all it was a fun morning. The haunted house was neat but probably a little under appreciated by the not quite two year old. Hopefully, we’ll make it back up to the museum before our membership expires.
