Johnson County: World’s Largest Rocking Chair, a park, and Ben
The plan for Saturday, March 21 was to hang out at the mancave; we’d get a chance to take in the Saturday morning activity at the airport and more importantly Isaac would get a chance to expend some energy. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t get the memo and it was cold, windy, and overcast. So we decided to head up the road and visit Johnson County.
We opted for Johnson County because it was close and we didn’t want to stray too far away from home for Baby Zoe’s first 92 County Adventure. Also, it’s almost impossible to leave the house before 9:30 with a two week old baby so we only had an hour or two to spare.
Our first stop was the World’s Largest Rocking Chair.
There’s not too much for a 2.5 year old to do at the World’s Largest Rocking Chair so we quickly headed to Blue Heron Park and Wetland. Blue Heron Park was a nice little park. There was quite a bit of playground equipment. Unfortunately, it had rained quite a bit the night before and all of the playground equipment was soaked and it was a bit on the cool side so we didn’t play for all that long.
Isaac got a big kick out of the tree tunnel.
Zoe slept during our entire adventure…here’s a quick picture for all of our readers out there that love to see cute babies.
We made one last stop before we headed back home. We went to the campus of Franklin College to see Ben.
At first, Isaac wasn’t too sure about Ben but after a few minutes he wanted to stand with Ben and get his picture.
We intended to cap our adventure off with a trip to the McDonalds playplace in Franklin IN, but found out that the playplace was no more, so we ventured south for the short trip back home.
