Lawrence County: Spring Mill State Park
Since the kids enjoyed hiking at Clifty Falls State Park last year, we thought we’d try another Memorial Day Weekend hike at Spring Mill State Park.
After a quick picnic lunch we headed over to the Inn to hike trail 5 around the lake.
About half way through trail 5 there’s a great waterfall.
As we continued on trail 5, we came across the Nature Center. There’s some great animal displays and a couple of kids activities. Isaac and Zoe really enjoyed the snakes.
After a short break at the Nature Center, we finished up trail 5.
Before heading out for the day, we decided to check out the Pioneer Village. The village was quite impressive and since it was Memorial Day weekend, there were quite a few people in period costumes and camping sites. Isaac thoroughly enjoyed the firing of the cannons that we just happened to time perfectly.
