Knox County: George Rogers Clark National Historic Park

Early Sunday morning, I went out for a run and happened across the George Rogers Clark National Historic Park. I thought it looked neat so we decided to make a quick stop before meeting Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Tom and Shakamak State Park for our final destination.

We didn’t intend to do much more than check out the Clark Memorial from outside but a friendly park ranger encouraged us to wait a few minutes until the park opened and do a bit of exploring.

The Visitor’s Center was more engaging than anticipated. Plus the kids got a kick out of dressing up.

Then it was onto the Clark Memorial.

The murals were amazing. But I think the kids were more entertained with the acoustics; especially being able to hear the park ranger for across the room even though she was whispering.
