Madison County: Mounds State Park

We’ve been hiking quite a bit since the shelter in place orders hit in Mid-March. So when Caleb had a rare day off so we decided to visit Mounds State Park on a beautiful Friday morning.

We made our way to the Great Mound via Trail 2’s Boardwalk.

We stopped to explore and learn more about the Great Mound, being over 2000 years old.

Then we spent the next couple of miles enjoying the lovely day and the spring wildflowers.

Our trip to Mounds was great. We appreciated learning about the Mounds and the people that built them, we enjoyed the spring blooms and we would definitely recommend Mounds.
