Sequoia National Park
National Park #6
In October 2018, we decided to visit Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. And we were going to do it all in 3 days! before finishing up our Fall Break at Disneyland. It was an ambitious plan with lots of driving but it was ah-mazing!
When planning this trip it seemed like a great idea to hit three national parks in three days. In retrospect, I wish we would have taken a bit more time in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
At some point between Yosemite and Kings Canyon and Sequoia, Zoe developed a pretty epic case of car sickness. Luckily, at this point she was feeling well enough to check out the General Sherman Tree but we kept our exploring to a minimum.
The General Sherman Tree is the world’s largest tree by volume. I can’t even begin to describe the massiveness of the tree.
Can’t pass up the opportunity to walk through a big tree, again.
A short detour down Moro Rock Road, and you can drive your car through a tree!
After a long, windy, road construction filled decent out of the mountains, we stopped at the Foothills Visitor’s Center so Isaac could collect Junior Ranger Badges for himself and Zoe.
There’s definitely much more to explore in Sequoia National Park. Maybe someday we’ll attempt this three national parks trip again but this time, we’ll spend more than three days.
