Jay County – Loblolly Marsh Wetland

Our second stop of the day was Loblolly Marsh Wetland.

This part wetland, part prairie, part forest, nature preserve is one of the larger nature preserve we have visited.

We hiked about a mile of trails at Loblolly and saw many wildflowers and butterflies.

Just a few miles away, in Geneva is the Gene Stratton-Porter Cabin. We stopped by the museum/gift shop but unfortunately, we didn’t have time to go on the guided tour. But we did get to hear the interesting story behind the big safe in the lobby.
