Wayne County – Levi and Catharine Coffin House
Our last stop of the day was the Levi and Catharine Coffin House.
The Coffin House is one of the Indiana State Museum’s Historic Sites and after coming across a handful of glowing recommendations we decided to check it out.
We arrived at the Coffin Interpretive Center in the middle of a Sunday afternoon and discovered that The Coffin house can only be viewed via a tour (tours can be booked in advance on the website). Fortunately, the museum staff member offered to give us a tour on the spot.
We enjoyed the exhibits in interpretive center while we waited for our tour.
Our tour guide was amazing! She provided us with lots of interesting facts about Levi and Catharine Coffin, the house, and kept the kids engaged during our hour tour. The house really did live up to the positive recommendations!
I would highly recommend a visit to The Levi and Catharine Coffin House. It was an intriguing look into the Coffins and Indiana history in the 1800s.
